Water??? Pshhh…. Where the JUICE at?

I am a sweet juice fiend. Although, I’m not to the point where I hate water ( thank God, cause I know people like that) I definitely prefer something sweet to drink with every meal and all those times in between. I’m that girl that can DESTROY a bottle of Simply Lemonade or Tropicana juice. Dang on shame, I know! For as long as I can remember, I’ve loved syrupy drinks. I’ve now come to understand that it’s all apart of a raging sugar addiction that I have. But how did I get this way? I’d venture to say that America is responsible for my sweet juice addiction. Damn right I said it! America, how could u have failed me so? You with your big gulps and enormous portion sizes. You with your huge profitable food industry. You have created all of these tasty sweet juice cocktails for me that are IRRESISTIBLE! Your food scientists know exactly which combination of sugars and salts will make me a slave to the food. You sell me sickeningly sweet Jungle Juice in large bottles that have 4 servings and I sheepishly drink it knowing that every serving contains over 30 grams of sugar. Disgusting. Putting over 100 grams of sugar in bottle of convenience store juice should be criminal. It’s crazy. We have all these people telling us that the obesity and diabetes epidemic is getting worse, but where are all the activists working double time to help put limits on the food industry? Limiting availability to unhealthy snacks in schools is not enough. Stuff like jungle juice shouldn’t even be available. What. The. Hell…. Well, while I’m waiting on big food to reign in their portion sizes and limit their sugar input ( won’t be holding my breathe) I think I’ll opt for more water instead. I’ve got a Brita pitcher on deck and I love a good cold glass of water when I’m parched. But I’ve got to fall in love with water. I wanna see water the way I see wine… As a wonderful treat. A luxurious liquid from God that not only does great things for me internally, but also makes my hair grow longer and keeps my skin glowing and acne free. This is a process people, but a worthy endeavor nonetheless. <3
